13 ways of looking at a cobweb/spiderweb

I. a thread

of excrement

from a spiders tailbone

II. a sliver of soul

glinting beyond moss and tree bark

III. the aftertaste of a dream

painted lightly

with splitting sunbeams

IV. silvery dewdrops

feels like floss

V. a skeletal tapestry

wilting idly

in the frame of a dying oak

VI. the remains of a trap

hung limply

in the attic

VII. it sprawls

and curls

in the corners behind our beds

VIII. warning

a creature lurks nearby

IX. a grave for flies

and

flamboyant butterflies

X. an artful tangle

a crystalline spiral

XI. catch it in the dying light

eight legs

fright

XII. melts in water

like cotton candy on your tongue

XIII. a sign of age

a sign of decay
